Every now and then I see Bob Marshall-Andrews (Lab, Medway) in the Bar Mess at the Old Bailey. Until now I have resisted the urge to present him with a Lib Dem membership form.
But having heard last Friday’s edition of Any Questions I wonder if someone has beaten me to it.
Bob comes out for pretty much every Lib Dem position from a referendum on EU membership rather than on the Treaty, to no more nuclear power, and being against extending detention without charge. He was also, of course, on the right side over Iraq and I know he is against ID cards.
It’s time to join the Liberal Democrats, Bob.
