I’ve checked that it is now public knowledge that Shaun is moving on after about 5 years as South East Region Campaigns Officer. Shaun becomes national campaigns officer at Cowley Street.
I first met Shaun in early 2001 when I was Parliamentary Candidate for Dover. Shaun was agent in the next door constituency, and target seat, Shepway. I learned a huge amount in my early days from watching Shaun and Peter Carroll’s solid community politics.
Shaun and Peter’s advice was very important in my team in Dover getting the largest Lib Dem swing in Kent.
Factors beyond Shaun and Peter’s control stopped them winning the Folkestone parliamentary seat. But in 2003 they went from 13 councillors to over 30; Tories fell like skittles.
In the last couple of years I have been a member of the South East Regional Executive, and I know my colelagues on that body will miss Shaun’s advice.
Thanks and good luck Shaun, in the past 5 years you’ve done a lot of good work.
The Region is welcoming three new campaign staff. I’m not sure if I can mention the details publicly at the moment but their arrival is extremely exciting.
